It was Tuesday, August 12th when we launched the Calaveras SAVE Campaign Facebook page. Within three days, we had over 1,000 people engaged in this powerful movement. Ever evolving and always moving forward, the SAVE Campaign took on a life of it’s own. People just like you posted great photos and memories of the power of programs and how they inspire youth to do more and be more. We were in awe of the show of support and we wanted to be sure that we did things right.
As Benjamin Franklin once said, “By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.” We knew early on that we needed to have a strong organizational structure in place. With the help of 240 people, we received feedback and information from our initial survey. We learned that there were MANY people interested in giving of their time, talent and support to save music education and other programs for youth. We began to build our leadership team and campaign structure through a long thought out process. Today, we have over 50 volunteers ready to do whatever they can to successfully reach the campaign goal.
We have built a dedicated team, made strategic partnerships and strengthened community relationships to sustain this movement for years to come. Our current goal of raising $266,000 to secure music education in the immediate future may just be the beginning. Can you imagine an organization created to help supplement and provide new and improved opportunities for the youth in Calaveras Unified School District? We can.
Please join us for the SAVE Campaign. We urge you to get involved. Share your story. Donate. And be a hero for a child.
